Pre-Development Engineer Coffee

Are you a creative engineer who enjoys working on concrete applications in an international and innovative environment?

For our Function Development department we are looking for a Pre-Development Engineer who will lead multidisciplinary project teams on the development of function for coffee appliances or new coffee concepts.

Your challenge
As a Pre-Development Engineer you will be responsible for the function or concept development in projects of innovative products in the area of domestic appliances. You will deliver meaningful innovations to both consumers (end users) and customers (business). Your challenge is in balancing performance, time to market, costs, creativity and quality.

Your responsibilities
As a Pre-Development Engineer you are working in the front end innovation within our technical and cross-functional Innovation Team Beverages and will be responsible for:

·         Develop new and optimize existing product concepts based on consumer needs;

·         Scout technologies and assess the feasibility of applications;

·         Give input in the creation of roadmaps for future product platforms.

·         Lead and participate as key competence resource in cross functional teams;

·         Lead multi disciplines and internal and external partners;

·         Manage the dependencies and deliverables in line with the overall project plan.

Your team
You will be part of the Beverage team (70 people) and directly working in the Function Development and System Architecture team with in total around 10 people. As a Pre-Development Engineer you will directly report to your manager and for the project results to a team of stakeholders of all the relevant disciplines within the innovation value chain (consumer marketing, development, quality, supply)

We are looking for

·         A natural leader with a high motivation and drive to develop a breadth of knowledge and professional experience in innovation, technology and development, with ambitions to become the technical leader in coffee.

·         You have a Master degree in Physics or Mechanical Engineering.

·         At least 5 years experience in pre-development of new concepts and/or functions in a R&D environment, evidenced by successful projects preferably in the high volume consumer products market.

·         You have experience in one or more relevant fields of competency for domestic appliances, such as heating, brewing and/or fluid management (dosing, pumping).

·         Experience in leading  a multidisciplinary development environment.

·         Knowledge of and experience in disciplines with which co-operation takes place (Physics, Mechanics).
