For our Industrial Cost Engineering (ICE) department we are looking for an Industrial Cost Engineer who provides integral business support to the Innovation and Development organization from a technical, financial and organizational point of view.

Your challenge
As a Industrial Cost Engineer you are creating an insight into the relationship between costs and processes and therefore are playing a key role in advising the management and project teams at Philips Consumer Lifestyle, Drachten.

Your responsibilities
As an Industrial Cost Engineer you are part of a multidisciplinary team that is responsible for:

• The development of consumer products (from concept to manufacturing). You will advise (per request and proactively) on all financial-technical related issues. You primarily will be involved in the creation and implementation of financial project plans, cost calculations and time and method analysis.
• Evaluating the costs of internal versus external production of our consumer products. For the new projects you will be setting up profitability analysis and investigating alternatives to achieve ambitious business goals.
• You will initiate, participate in or lead improvement teams, always searching for new developments and alternatives, which can have a great impact on the total business.

Your function will be related to the Production, Innovation, Engineering, Logistics, Purchasing and other departments within Philips Consumer Lifestyle. Obviously, the cooperation within the ICE team itself is vital.

Your team
The Industrial Cost Engineering (ICE) department consists of 11 professionals and provides integral business support to the innovation sites from a technical, financial and organizational point of view. This relates to all products, production means and processes, which are within the framework of Philips Consumer Lifestyle.

Within the innovation sites the main responsibilities of ICE are focused on optimizing the development of new consumer products and processes. The ICE team is creating an insight into the relationship between costs and processes and therefore is playing a key role in advising the management and project teams.

We are looking for

In order to be a successful candidate for this position it is essential that:

• You have a Technical Masters Degree;
• You have minimum 3 years of experience as a cost engineer in a technical environment (or you are an engineer with an interest in the financial side of technical projects);
• You have knowledge of innovation processes; time and analysis methods; cost, price and profitability calculation methods;
• You are able to quickly switch gears between detailed analyses and longer term higher level processes;
• You have the ability to balance innovation and practical realization;
• You have excellent analytical skills;
• You are ambitious, a team player and have outstanding presentation and communication skills and therefore able to move and inspire others on different levels
