Lentis
Lentis, formerly known as GGz Groningen, offers help to people with psychological or psychiatric problems. Lentis stands for:
- Professionalism. We work with professionals who are up-to-date. Furthermore, it is proven that our methods of treatment are of good quality.
- Reliability. We have a certificate, stating that our care meets the requirements of good and responsible health care.
- Always close. Our roots can be found in the province of Groningen, but we work with certain health sectors nationwide.
People can come to Lentis with their story. An elderly person requires different health care than a child and someone with severe psychiatric issues requires a different approach than someone with questions about the meaning of life. Because of these different problems Lentis has several forms of health care; each specialized in its own area of expertise:
- Dignis, care of the elderly
- Linis, mental health care
- Jonx, juvenile mental health care
- Axenza, specialist health care (such as for autism, personality and eating disorders)
- Welnis, assistant with psychological problems, questions about the meaning of life and prevention
- Forint, aimed at people who partly as a result of their psychiatric and/or addiction problems came (or about to become) in contact with the justice department.
Furthermore, Lentis cooperates with the dr. S. van Mesdag clinic.
Currently, there are approximately 2500 people employed at Lentis: nurses, care workers, doctors, psychiatrists, psychologist, orthopedagoges, human resource workers, financial and support management staff members. Annually, Lentis’s different health sectors provide care to approximately 15000 clients.
Lentis also offers educational programs internally. There are programs to become a psychiatrist, to specialize oneself in social psychiatry or become a health care psychologist. Furthermore, Lentis offers programs to become a nursing specialist within GGZ or to become a nurse. It is also possible to do an internship at Lentis, for those who are currently enrolled in the vocational programs HBO-V, MBO-SPW or MBO-AB. Lentis is also frequently in search of interns for their supporting services.
