It seems self-evident that clean water flows from the tap. Still, there is a whole company behind this process. WMD distributes drinking water of a good quality to 450.000 customers in Drenthe 24 hours a day.

Quality, secure distribution and affordability are at the fore. WMD therefore gets all its water from the most reliable source, deep below the ground. To check this high-quality product, WMD has its own laboratory.
Joint-stock company
WMD is a joint-stock company in which municipalities and province hold shares. These shareholders have important powers in setting the prices and conditions. Our shareholders support a durable society with care for the protection of nature and environment.
Benchmark
WMD is among the smallest drinking water companies in the Netherlands, but scores unabatedly high in comparisons of expedience. In the fields of service, water quality and cost control, WMD can be said to be in the leading group.
Other activities
WMD presents itself on the water market with different innovative water activities. For industries and greenhouses, WMD designs purification installations to match their needs. The zoo in Emmen, for example, has a durable water cycle: waste water is biologically cleaned and reused. WMD keeps investing in new technologies. Our employees are experts in the field of drinking water. Whether distribution, materials, purification techniques or substances in the water are concerned: our knowledge is vast and continuously expanding.
International
There is plenty of water, just not everywhere or for everyone: 40% of the global population has no access to clean drinking water or has to make do without sanitation. Every day, 7500 people die, of which 5000 below the age of five, because of lack of drinking water. WMD is working on solutions and steps up for water projects in Kenya and Indonesia. Corporate responsibility with concrete results.

Culture

Selection
WMD creates a selection committee for every vacancy. In this committee are at least the manager and an employee of our P&O department.  This committee will judge the letters of application and decides which candidates will be invited for a conversation. Applicants will get a reply within two weeks after the final date of application as mentioned in the advertisement.
Privacy
Our P&O department will handle the right to privacy of applicants with care. Apart from the P&O department and the selection committee, no one will get to see the letters of application.
