Working on perspective
UWV, Uitvoeringsinstituut Werknemers Verzekeringen (Institute for Employee Insurance), provides the implementation of employee insurances (such as unemployment, WIA (IVA and WGA), Wajong, WAO, WAZ, WAZO), labour and data services, under the authority of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.

Our core tasks and our ambition
UWV has core tasks in four areas:
- work – helping clients in employment, by working closely with the municipalities;
- medical social issues - evaluating disease and disability according to clear criteria;
- pay - quickly and correctly providing benefits when work is not or not immediately possible;
- data management - ensuring that the customer has to provide data on work and benefit to the government only once.
We want to excel as a public service by focusing on the customer. We make this goal concrete on the basis of measurable criteria: personal attention, accessibility, timeliness, clarity and customised work.

Education and development
UWV is an attractive employer for both novices and professionals with varying levels of education. This requires different types of employees with different skills. UWV has a Management Development Programme. Its purpose is to deploy management creatively. The programme focuses on coaching, inspiration and leadership. This gives you more room for your own approach. Conversely, we expect you to look outside the confines of your own work. But also that you take responsibility for your own performance and development. This way, you can take control of your career. We enable you to follow your own performance, development, and career. Our career centres and the UWV Academy offer support.

Of course we invest in your training and development. We fully compensate tuitions for an education that fits your career development within the organisation.
Traineeships & internships
UWV has an intensive training programme for management trainees. You will be challenged both personally and professionally to determine the direction for further development. This way you get a lot of responsibility for the work you do, but also for working on your own career. This traineeship takes two years. You are strongly put in a learning environment within the organization: work and education. During this time, you will fulfill two functions. You will learn by interacting with your fellow trainees. Of course we will support you with professional support and customisation. UWV is a social organisation that offers you an opportunity to gain work experience through an internship. Wajongers also are eligible. If there is room for an internship within UWV, a vacancy will be posted on our website. Open and / or specific responses are reviewed by UWV Vacaturebureau (UWV Job Agency) and then forwarded to the HRM consultant. UWV Job Agency is responsible for sending both a confirmation of receipt and a notification of a match. You will also be informed by the UWV Job Agency if you are rejected.
