A new building
The Martini Ziekenhuis is a top clinical hospital in the South of the city of Groningen. At the end of 2007 the new hospital at the Van Swietenplein started. A remarkable hospital, in which patient care is shown to the fullest; it is a building where people feel comfortable. It is mainly due to the use of many (day)light(s) and colours, the logical organisation and attention to relaxation possibilities.
Specialist medical care
The Martini Ziekenhuis provides specialist medical care: clinical, outpatient or in day treatment. Characteristic is the organisation of health care around the patient. Through, for example, the development of the problem oriented polyclinics, such as heart failure clinic and day diagnosis for the elderly, we seek to adjust our patient logistics as good as we can in order to maximize the health care around the patient. We have the best specialisations working closely together to achieve the best treatment for our patients. The Brandwondencentrum Groningen for North- and East-Netherlands, specialised in burns, is the perfect example of multidisciplinary treatment.
Working in the Martini Ziekenhuis
Annually, we receive 280.000 patients to visit the polyclinics and 45.000 for an admission. The Martini Ziekenhuis is a 24/7 business and has a matching working environment: flexible and dynamic. There are approximately 2300 people employed at the Martini Ziekenhuis in a wide range of professions, from specialists and nurses to the many professions that support the organisation of the hospital.
