The Dutch Gasunie is a gas transport company.  The main task is managing, maintaining and adjusting (renovation and development of) the gas infrastructure. The company owns and manages one of the largest gas infrastructures in Europa (11.600 km). Gasunie strives to supply her services within an integrating European free market in the most efficient and sustainable way. Our long-term vision forms the foundation of our strategic mission:

To fulfil this mission the Gasunie has to stay a leading player in the field of gas infrastructure and gas transport in Europe.

The European gas market is being liberalized. The Netherlands is one of the front runners in this area. Part of that liberalization is separating the transport from the trade of natural gas. The thought behind that separation is that with independent transport, every supplier of gas has equal opportunities to bring gas to the new free market; also, the divide will make sure that the competition between suppliers will work in a better way. Gasunie will focus on the increasing number of international gas flows. Gasunie has the ambition ánd the power to hold a strong position as independent gas transport supplier on the European market.
