The Alfa-college is the Christian Regional Education Centre for the northern and eastern parts of the Netherlands and has branches in Groningen, Hoogeveen, Assen, Hardenberg, Emmen en Leek. The Alfa-college supplies vocational trainings, educational courses and courses for individuals as well as organizations. The Alfa-college has approximately 12.000 students and 1.000 staff members.

Young people and young-adults can follow vocational trainings in the following areas: Health and Social Care, Sports, Business Studies and Technology and ICT.  The Alfa-college also acts within the framework of ‘Life Long Learning’, which focuses on courses for adults like APL-courses.

The Alfa-college is divided into three organizational regions. To make sure that the Executive Board and the staff members and mangers of the different locations are sufficiently supported, the Alfa-college has two service units: Education and Development, and Management.
